Budget a scraping job before you run it

A common complaint about scraping platforms is that the bill is hard to predict: credits per actor, compute units, plan tiers, and pricing pages that change often. With FastAF each route has one fixed price per call, so the budget is a multiplication. See fastaf.co.

The formula

cost = number_of_calls × route_price

Route Price per call 1,000 calls 10,000 calls
serp (Google) $0.003 $3 $30
amazon $0.003 $3 $30
scrape $0.005 $5 $50
youtube $0.005 $5 $50
shopping $0.01 $10 $100
linkedin (profiles) $0.06 $60 $600

Prices from the FastAF x402 routes, GET https://api.fastaf.co/x402/v1/<name>. Check the live 402 quote before a big run.

Worked example

Track 200 keywords on Google daily for 30 days: 200 × 30 = 6,000 serp calls × $0.003 = $18.

Cap it in code

const PRICE = { serp: 0.003, scrape: 0.005, shopping: 0.01 };
let spent = 0; const CAP = 20;
function canCall(route: keyof typeof PRICE) {
  if (spent + PRICE[route] > CAP) return false;
  spent += PRICE[route]; return true;
}

More on caps: Agent spend caps with per-call pricing.

Notes

  • No account needed with x402; with an account you get 500 free credits every month after email verification.
  • The MCP endpoint (https://api.fastaf.co/mcp) uses an API key, not x402.
