Use FastAF in automation workflows and AI agents, or pay for individual API calls with x402.

How can your workflow call FastAF?

The same web data comes through four paths. Two are automation platforms where you add FastAF as a node or a piece; one is the Model Context Protocol for AI agents and coding assistants; one is x402 for agents that pay per call from a wallet. The first three use a FastAF API key (MCP also accepts OAuth); x402 needs no account.

n8n

What it is: a community node, n8n-nodes-fastaf v0.1.3, that adds FastAF operations to n8n workflows.

Setup: in n8n open Settings > Community Nodes, choose install and enter the package name n8n-nodes-fastaf. Then add the node to a workflow and connect it with your FastAF API key.

When to use it: scheduled or event-driven jobs, for example a daily Google search for a brand term or a check on a list of Amazon ASINs, where the results go to a spreadsheet, a database or a chat channel. Each run draws credits from your account balance.

Activepieces

What it is: a FastAF piece published as @fastaf-co/piece-fastaf.

Setup: in Activepieces open Settings > My Pieces > Install Piece and enter @fastaf-co/piece-fastaf. Connect it with your FastAF API key.

When to use it: the same no-code automation cases as n8n, if your team already runs flows in Activepieces.

MCP (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other clients)

What it is: a remote MCP server at https://api.fastaf.co/mcp over Streamable HTTP, with 23 tools such as google_search, google_maps_places, amazon_product, search_ebay, search_walmart, search_zillow, youtube_transcript, get_linkedin_profile, x_profile, scrape_url and search_flights.

Setup: for Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http fastaf https://api.fastaf.co/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer $FASTAF_API_KEY"

Step-by-step setup for each client: Claude Code, Cursor, Vercel AI SDK, OpenAI Agents SDK and LangChain.

Other clients take the same URL and header, or sign in with OAuth. Listing the tools is public and needs no key; calling a tool needs a FastAF API key or an OAuth token. Every successful tool result reports credits_used and credits_remaining. See the server card, the MCP documentation and the setup guide for Claude Code, Codex and Cursor.

Note: MCP is not paid with x402. If your client loads too many tools, filter them on the client side; see Too many MCP tools?.

x402

What it is: 24 REST routes under GET https://api.fastaf.co/x402/v1/<name>, paid per successful call in USDC on Base, without an account or API key.

Setup: use any x402-aware client. The first request returns HTTP 402 with the exact price; the client signs and retries. Only successful calls settle. Google search costs $0.003 per call; every price is on the x402 price list. Discover the routes in the x402 catalog, or read how x402 works and the x402 documentation.

When to use it: autonomous agents with their own wallet and spending cap that should not hold an API key.

Already using a Tavily SDK?

FastAF answers Tavily-style /search and /extract requests at https://api.fastaf.co/tavily. Keep the official Python or JavaScript SDK, change the base URL and use a FastAF API key, or pay per call with x402. See the Tavily-compatible API for examples, supported fields and prices.

Which one should you pick?

  • A no-code workflow: n8n or Activepieces.
  • Web data for a coding assistant or a chat agent: MCP.
  • An agent that pays for itself: x402.
