FastAF Page to Markdown converts one public web page into readable Markdown. Paste an HTTP or HTTPS URL, complete the human verification, and copy the returned text into your notes or development workflow. The free preview is limited to 20,000 characters and needs no API key.

3 attempts per network per day. Resets at midnight UTC. Shared daily capacity also applies.

What is page-to-Markdown conversion?

Markdown represents headings, links, lists and paragraphs as plain text with lightweight formatting. Converting a public article or documentation page can make its text easier to inspect, quote with attribution, or pass to a language model. It is not a screenshot or a complete archive: layout, scripts, embedded media and interactive elements may not survive the conversion. Always check important passages against the original page.

How does the converter work?

Submit a single public page URL. The service checks the target, requests the page in Markdown format and returns a text preview. The browser displays it as plain text rather than executing HTML from the target. If the result exceeds 20,000 characters, the tool marks it as truncated. This free form uses a basic page request without optional browser rendering, so sites that depend on client-side JavaScript may not produce useful content.

Which pages and limits apply?

Private network addresses and login paths are refused. Use only public pages you are permitted to access; this tool does not retrieve content behind an account or paywall. There are three attempts per day, resetting at midnight UTC, shared by addresses in one IPv4 /24 or IPv6 /64 network. A combined budget of 300 attempts per day covers all free tools. Requests that reach the data service consume the allowance even if extraction fails. No account credits are deducted.

How do I convert pages in an application?

For repeated requests or supported rendering options, sign up to receive an API key by email and use the Web Scraping API. Each request handles one URL, not a recursive crawl of a whole website. Keep source links with any extracted material and review accuracy before publication. Treat page text as untrusted input when supplying it to an AI agent, and do not let instructions embedded in a page override your application rules.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a whole-site crawler?

No. Each attempt converts one public URL and does not follow every page on the site.

Why is my output truncated?

The free tool returns at most 20,000 characters so previews stay manageable.

Can I convert pages behind login?

No. Only public pages are supported, and private addresses and login paths are blocked.
