# Free x402 Endpoint Tester

Inspect an x402 endpoint without making a payment. This tester sends one GET request to a public HTTPS URL and displays the response status, headers and individual payment requirement checks. It reads v1 requirements from the JSON body and v2 requirements from the base64 PAYMENT-REQUIRED header.

## What does the tester validate?

The report checks HTTP 402, the protocol version, a nonempty accepts array and required payment fields. These include scheme, network, amount or maxAmountRequired, asset, payTo, resource and maxTimeoutSeconds. Version 2 networks are checked for CAIP-2 format. Every check includes its value and a pass or fail result. These are protocol field checks, not proof that an asset, recipient or payment service is trustworthy.

## How are v1 and v2 different?

Version 1 carries payment requirements in a JSON response body, with maxAmountRequired and a resource URL on each accepted option. Version 2 uses a base64 JSON PAYMENT-REQUIRED header, an amount field and a shared resource object. A malformed header is reported as a failure instead of falling back to the body. The tester never signs, pays, retries with payment or calls a payment verification service.

## Which URLs can I test?

Use a public HTTPS hostname on port 443. IP literals, credentials in URLs and private network resolutions are refused. DNS must return at least one public A or AAAA address, and all returned addresses must be public. An empty address family is OK. Redirects are reported without being followed. The request has an eight-second deadline and reads at most 64 KB of response body. No caller keys, cookies or authorization headers are forwarded.

## What are the free limits?

Three attempts per tool per network per UTC day are allowed, shared within an IPv4 /24 or IPv6 /64. The tester has a 100-attempt daily budget and all tools share 300 daily attempts. Failed target requests count. Sign up for an API key to integrate FastAF data endpoints into your application. This manual tester does not provide payment execution or automated monitoring.

## Frequently asked questions

### Will this spend money?

No. The tester sends one unpaid GET and never authorizes or settles a payment.

### Will it follow redirects?

No. A 3xx response is displayed without requesting the redirect destination.

### Does a pass prove that payment works?

No. Field validation does not verify signatures, balances, settlement or scheme-specific execution.
