No card is required. POST /public/signup automatically creates the first API key and emails it with a confirmation link. It sets a dashboard session cookie but does not return an API key in the response. Save the key from the welcome email and follow the emailed GET /public/signin/{token} link before making data calls. FastAF stores only the key hash and cannot show or resend that key. After email confirmation, create additional or replacement keys in the dashboard (POST /v1/keys with the session cookie); those keys are shown only once. Email confirmation unlocks 500 free credits every month per account, shared across all keys and all REST/MCP endpoints and used before any paid credits. They reset to 500 at 00:00 UTC on the 1st of each month and do not carry over; they are not valid on x402. Failed calls use no credits. Unverified accounts receive email_verification_required (403) before any data call or credit reservation. Signups are limited per IPv4 /24 or IPv6 /64 network per UTC day (default 3); 429 means retry after the reset. GET /v1/usage reports free_credits_remaining and free_credits_reset_at separately from balance_credits. POST /v1/signup is retired and returns 410 signup_disabled. Prepaid credit packs: Starter $10 for 20,000 credits; Growth $29 for 75,000; Scale $99 for 300,000; Pro $299 for 1,000,000; Business $799 for 3,000,000. Paid credits never expire.
